The King's Speech

Recommended Posts

Published to coincide with the Oscar-winning film of the same name, this memoir by the grandson of speech therapist Logue retells the story of George VI's triumph over a speech defect from a more intimate, familial perspective.

I listened to this back in 2016,  but am only just adding my BGO Book List for that year so have insufficient memory of it to comment, except that i found it an interesting, and in places moving, telling of the King's struggle to overcome his speech impediment sufficiently to speak publicly when necessary.
