Oh My God, Oh My God! Surely I wasn't the only person screaming with laughter at their TV last night?

Craig: "My hand was there as a friend "

It was funny, but creepy as well. Craig is freaking me out now. I wish he would leave Anthony alone. He has made it pretty clear that he isn't interested in Craig like that. I think there are going to be more tears.

This year's bunch are certainly a weird lot. I wish Kemal that would stop wearing women's shoes and put some clothes on!

Derek will win the prize of House Manipulator - he is scary!

Great spot, Cathy. That probably was the best single line, but there were many. It was a classic romcom, starting with the scene at the dinner table, with Craig mouthing his lustful desire, and Anthony shuffling in discomfort. There was physical comedy too - Craig crying his eyes in the diary room, Craig hitting Anthony across the chops. But Craig's claim that all he is doing is protecting Anthony from himself and why can't he see it, is perhaps the biggest bellylaugh of all.

To bring this back to the literary, the relationship reminds me of that between the playwright Joe Orton and Kenneth Halliwell, in which the latter ended up murdering the former. One day, Craig will kill.

:o You are too kind. But Craig should get the dubious credit for it.

Apart from the potentially ending up killing thing, we've all been there (not just me, right?!), drunk and getting emotional/bunny-boilerish, thankfully there was no camera there to capture it! On the other hand, I don't have much sympathy for Craig, his whole 'its so tragic being gay because no one will like me' thing doesn't work for me, its not the 1950s any more for goodness sake! Get over yourself! Get a crush on Derek - that would be funny!

Cringe, cringe, that hug went on for far too long too!!!

PS must also bring attention to Eugene hovering around not really dancing when the music was playing... he has to win!!!!!!!!!!

*breathe and relax*

Well I watched 10 mins a couple of nights ago - the gay coloured chap (Derek?) was tidying up after Makosi (I think) and Eugene was wandering around with an odd expression on his face which suggested he really wasn't all there.

2 young blokes were having a terribly intense conversation about their upbringing and being gay or something. the ugly little prat faced one was saying stuff about his parents, and his life being HELL, but most of it was covered with animal noises.

I know 10 mins isn't enough to get a feel for it but I have to say that it did confirm my worst fears - you guys are nuts!

So I understand I chose the wrong night to watch my 10mins. I see from another Forum that Kanga has been masturbating with a wine bottle tonight.

Seriously, I'm no prude (didn't see it and might be jumping to conclusions) but I do wonder whether helping some Z List drunken slapper climb up the Alpha-list ladder to notoriety as a result of performing a lewd act on TV is really ok? (I haven't expressed that very well, but you know what I mean.)

What do you think?

I was totally TOTALLY shocked, I was just staring looking at my tv in amazement!

I didn't like it at all, she is going to be so embarrassed, her parents must be horrified!

In fact I would rather not think about it too much........

It seems pretty clear why she wanted to get on the programme... at least now it is.... if we're voyeurs (but don't start on this again RR!), she is a total exhibitionist!!!!

I mean, would any of you, no matter how drunk, EVER behave like that? There is no way she didn't know what she was doing, I don't even think she will be embarrassed, I think she probably went in there intending to do something to do something like that... a career in porn perhaps beckons for Kinga?!

Please please please vote to keep Eugene in this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(An earlier post has given me my first smirk since returning to the forum. I really didn't think anyone used the expression 'coloured' anymore...)

NB I think Kinga's quite sweet, actually...

Why not? What does it mean?

Well, I think the suggestion is that 'coloured' is a bit 'pre-1950', because it lumps anyone who isn't white into one handy little container.

The guy's black, so why not say 'black'? (If he'd been white, would you have said 'non-coloured'?)

Oh I see. To me the guy is just a guy, and the word coloured describes his skin just as inadequately as black, as he is actually brown skinned.

Whether one or the other is considered PC these days is actually of very little concern to me. If the word 'coloured' worries you or anybody else of whatever race, in any way, I can only feel a little sorry for you.

For goodness sake, can't you just say sorry for once? We could have a discussion about PC language and why it can be a good thing: E.g. it can alter people's perceptions, especially younger people growing up with the language, so if they have words for black and white people (which aren't perfect because white people aren't that white either), those words a roughly equal in status, and one set of people aren't seen as 'non-normal' i.e. 'coloured' if there isn't even a word for white people, they are just people. Coloured starts to sound like some qualification to the word 'person'. Not that that means you are meaning to offend someone, but you can see why someone might take offence, right? Or are you just going to by sarcy and annoying?

Edited to say:

PS, sorry to get personal, but you wouldn't happen to be a white, male, middle-class, middle-aged, heterosexual, fully able-bodied person would you? Just guessing!

Whoa! Time out, guys! I think RR just used a term that was very common for his generation and, unsurprisingly, has felt a bit defensive when challenged. Ultimately, it was just a tag to make it clear to whom he was referring, not knowing Derek's name.

No, it's not the most desirable term to describe an individual, though I've seen 'people of colour' used in many modern contexts from people who are very conscious of sensitive terminology. I guess it would be great if RR made it clear he didn't want to offend anyone, as I'm sure he didn't, and if everyone else backed off a little.
