What was the last album you bought?

Recommended Posts

I don't buy music anymore but the latest couple I have listened to afresh on Spotify are U2's No Line on The Horizon and Green Day's 21st Century Breakdown.

This is the 1st U2 album I've listened to in a decade or more and I have to say I really liked it.

I also enjoyed Green Day's album - after the huge success of American Idiot I was a little concerned they might just do a virtual remake but again, I have to say, I was pleasantly impressed.

I just bought the Pink Box - 4 of her albums for the bargain price of £10.98 through Amazon. Not everyone's cup o' tea, but me and the boys blooming love her.

Might gave a look at this myself but Pink Box links to a book called "inside Japanese sex clubs" How strange.

Me too. We tried to get tickets to go and see them at the M.E.N. but they'd sold out within minutes of going on sale. Not sure what you have to do to get hold of tickets these days. Hubby was on the internet - (and had a few friends roped in to increase chances) before the site opened but no joy :o .

Last ones bought (including downloads from emusic)

Bauhaus - Go Away White

NIN - Ghosts I - IV

Circle Jerks - Wild In The Streets

Circle Jerks - Group Sex

Steve Vai - Flexable

Steve Vai - Flexable Leftovers

I'd not heard of Circle Jerks and so looked them up on Wikipedia. I love the redirection to other possible meanings of the expression. For adults only...

Just heard Joni Mitchell on a TV programme and realised the only LP I had of hers had been lost in one of my house moves so I went onto Amazon thru the link and ordered

All for £16, isn't the internet wonderful! (at times!)

I mostly listen to Spotify or Internet radio. My favourite station during the daytime is called Africa No. 1 which is a Francophone station playing music from Mali, Gabon, Senegal, etc. Great stuff. Unfortunately during the evening the programming is mostly talk shows.

The last album that I bought was Atlanta by Porcupine Tree. This download only live album has been released in support of Mick Karn.

Give it back to you by The Record Company. Hard roots/blues rock ala The Black Keys. This is their first album. Link to the song that made me buy the album

Sorry, that first link was a mistake ????

Generally speaking I don't tend to buy full albums now, with the advent of digital media I can be selective and just buy songs I like, however having said that I do tend to buy full albums from my favourite bands and this year I have been quite spoilt with the release of two in quick succession, back in March I got 'Firepower' by Judas Priest (although technically I didn't buy that as it was a mothers day present from my son, but I made it more than clear that I wanted it and was going to get it, he just beat me to it), 'Family Tree' by Black Stone Cherry (although technically my husband bought that for himself and I just downloaded a full copy for myself once he had bought it) and the other week I bought and downloaded the full 'And Justice for None' album by Five Finger Death Punch.
