Deception Point

Recommended Posts

When a new NASA satellite detects evidence of an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory…a victory that has profound implications for U.S. space policy and the impending presidential election.

With the Oval Office in the balance, the President dispatches White House Intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton to the Arctic to verify the authenticity of the find. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic academic Michael Tolland, Rachel uncovers the unthinkable — evidence of scientific trickery — a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy.

But before Rachel can make her findings known, she realises, perhaps too late, that such knowledge puts her and Tolland in deadly jeopardy. Fleeing for their lives in an environment as desolate as it is lethal, they possess only one hope for survival: to find out who is behind this masterful ploy. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all…

Ya Deception Point alright! Deception been the operative word!!! I have had better reads from the back of cornflake boxes. This book is driving me insane, it has never taken me as long to read a book, ever, and i feel like it is never going to end. :( But I can not finish it. Why? Well I hate to not finish books!! But this is a piece of work, I think it is by far the worst book i have ever had the misfortune to read. But now i could be wrong and it might get better by the end of it but I'm not holding out much hope. Anyone else feel like this? it might be a bit of a rant, but I hate to see this kind of tripe been published when there are great writers with great stories out there and don't get published!!!!

i hate the idea that i've read four out of five of brown's books, but i have! and they are all the same!! the da vinci code is the best, pacey, involving, running along at breakneck speed. i can't say anything to the validity of brown's claims, but once you have read one brown, you've read 'em all!! can the next book please have ; more character build-up/interaction; more background; and at least one change of clothes/meal that isn't a sandwich for the poor characters!!
