All at Sea by Decca Aitkenhead is a memoir about her relationship with the very complex Tony, and the aftermath of his death by drowning while rescuing one of their sons. It is well written, at least a half notch above newspaper writing, which is what Decca does for a living. It is also very honest and psychologically astute in portraying the multiple and serial effects of grief. For me the most interesting parts were her descriptions of the man Tony was, an individual who defies any easy classification. This was a short book and an interesting read. 3.5stars
