Though not in the league of Julia Donaldson, this book is bright and funny and quite ridiculous. You see, aliens come to earth not to abduct us humans but to steal our underpants and play with them in all kinds of games: hide and seek, upside down races...And they like all kinds: "They like them red, they like them green, Or orange like satsumas. But best of all they love the sight, Of Granny's spotted bloomers." No great story here, the rhymes are fine, but the illustrations are bright and fun and really bring the humour to life. My boys roll around with laughter at the thought of pants anyway, so aliens coming to earth to play in them is just hysterical. I don't find it that funny, after all, who is going to wash the alien slime out?
