  1. I had absolutely loved Khalid Hosseini's The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns but was a little disappointed after reading And The Mountains Echoed. It got way too monotonous right in the middle and I had to struggle to get to the end. There were multiple stories, instead of a single well-built plot, and not all of them were engaging. I enjoyed Bapsi Sidhwa's Water and The American Brat. Moshsi Hamid's Moth Smoke and The Reluctant Fundamentalist are also worth reading. I am currently reading Elif Shafak's 40 Rules of Love and it seems good so far.
  2. I hope I could do that too, but my pocket doesn't usually allow me....
  3. I just can't wait to watch Will Smith play Neville!
  4. Well, human beings are not always perfect, and besides my friend has other good qualities which make him admirable.I think I don't have to make a fuss if he is possessive about his books. The day I started that thread, I was way too disappointed but guess what? I've got the book.
  5. I do not believe in making resolutions because pre-planning seems like a funny idea to me.
  6. How very true! I am reading From A Buick 8 by Stephen King and have recently finished SIDDHARTHA,finally!
  7. How do you react if you discover your friends already possessing a book which you yourself had been dying to get? I was saving money for Grisham's new book "Playing for pizza" and was just about to get it when my friend broke the news,"Hey,I already have the book!" P.S:My friend is not fond of sharing!
  8. I think Charlie and the chocolate factory was my favourite one.I like the Dahl's way of creating a pure fantasy world, although BFG never attracted me enough ,so I never read the whole book(even it was part of the syllabus back then )!
  9. I read a lot of Agatha Christie and my favourite ones are: Mysterious Affairs At Styles Death in the Clouds Death comes as the end. One thing I cannot get over is: THE SIMILARITY OF HERCULE POIROT with SHERLOCK HOLMES! My sister does not agree but I have found many simalarities!
  10. I had an argument with my friend who kept on insiting that Tommyknockers was the King's best book ever. I have read that book but in the middle of it I sort of felt fed up!I thought that the story was exaggerated to an annoying extent.I like King but this one did not appeal me as much as his Firestarter and Different Seasons had done. What do you guys say?
