  1. Mine isn't a pile per se, but I do have a Word document several pages long title 'Books to Read.' And it only contains two Steinbecks.
  2. In addition to War and Peace, which I suspect will take me at least a month, I'm reading Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz. I suspect it will take me at least a day.
  3. I love everything I've read by Wilde, and Dorian Gray is no exception. I even have three cats named Dorian, Henry and Basil. I found it a very enjoyable read, Wilde's descriptions are second to none, and some of Lord Henry's 'aphorisms' had me in stitches. Although it does get a little slow in places, especially when talking about Dorian's pastimes, it is definitely worth reading.
  4. This book falls into my long list of 'read it once for myself, and then later for school' books, but that doesn't make me love it any less. I was never really scared by it, but it's very suspenseful nonetheless. The character Renfield is one of my all time favorites.
  5. I've read LOTF twice; once for pleasure and once for school. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but never looked for any of his other stuff. I'll be on the lookout for The Inheritors and The Spire.
  6. The whole life eating thing just always fascinated me. And I guess I like reading about insanity. *shrugs* I don't really know, he's just one character I really enjoy.
  7. I absolutely despised Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. Many Gothic/horror fans recommended it to me, but it bored me to tears.
  8. I really like Alex from A Clockwork Orange even though he's a terrible person. Renfield from Dracula is another character who's stuck with me.
  9. I usually have at least two going, one for when I'm in bed, and one for whenever else, and sometimes one for the car. Nobody in my family can comprehend it, but I've just always done it that way.
  10. I was searching for a community of fellow book lovers after the scifi/fantasy book site I frequented was destroyed. So yeah, Google.
  11. Hi, I'm a 16 year old guy, and I recently moved to Oklahoma from Colorado. I've been reading for as long as I can remember, my mom being a literature teacher helped out a lot with that. Some of my favorite writers are Edgar Allen Poe, Oscar Wilde, and Mark Twain. I like Stephen King and Dean Koontz a lot too.
  12. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. My mom, who is a literature teacher, told me to read it, and much to my surprise I'm actually enjoying it quite a lot.
