  1. 100 pages into Brazzaville Beach by William Boyd and enjoying it very much so far.
  2. I have 2 teenagers, 17 and 13. The only thing my 17 yr old will read is The Sun everyday, he thinks people who read a lot are just sad. My 13 yr old is completely opposite, she is never without a book and is currently reading Wuthering Heights. They have both been brought up more or less the same and I think reading is something they either enjoy or don't. Having said that though my son had to read Of Mice and Men and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde for his GCSE and he really enjoyed both of them.

  7. RISI swap:- I Know This Much is True - Wally Lamb

  9. Ooh me please, I absolutely loved 'The Crimson Petal and the White' and 'The Apple' so would like to read something else by Michel Faber. Also the books from Canongate that I have so far been lucky enough to get hold of have been very very good, especially The Gargoyle. Will pm now.
  10. I have another to add to books everyone else seems to love and I hate (well dislike):- The End of My Y - Scarlett Thomas My mind just kept wandering whilst reading it and the whole thing, including the characters, bored me senseless.
