  1. David, I'm sorry to hear about your mother . I hope things won't get too bad. Luna, I hope your father's surgery will go allright. chuntzy, that sounds like it was a difficult day.
  2. I've been reading a lot the past few days and have read: Susan Hill - Howards End is on the Landing Maeve Binchy - Star Sullivan Roald Dahl - Fantasic Mr. Fox Penny Vincenzi - Love in the Afternoon and Other Delights Banana Yoshimoto - Hardboiled & Hard Luck W.J. Burley - Wycliffe 13: Wycliffe and the Quiet Virgin I'm currently reading Temple Grandin - Animals Make Us Human on the Kindle and haven't started a new paperbook yet.
  3. Good luck momac, I hope everything goes well! Congrats Luna, that's very nice! I went to a book fair today here in the Netherlands and bought a lot of books! It was a lot of fun. I'm tired now though so sorting them out will have to happen at a later time.
  4. Thanks for all your symphathies. nonsuch, I'm sorry for your loss.
  5. A fox killed about 15 of our chickens a while ago . It was brutal, mindless killing. Some of them we found back, others were eaten whole. It was terribly sad and I really don't like foxes for this reason.
  6. This book is on my shelf but I haven't read it yet. I'm glad to hear you like it ! It's book one in the Century Trilogy, does it have an ending / can be it read seperately or do I need to get the other books first (once out in paperback)? (I prefer to read series close together rather than waiting a year or longer for the next book to be out).
  7. Is it perhaps A Street Cat Named Bob (How One Man and His Cat Found Hope on the Streets) by James Bowen? It's on my wishlist.
  8. Oh, I always thought most of the people here were from the U.S.! Not sure why I thought that, though. Welcome here, Floyd .
  9. I'm currently reading Markus Zusak - The Book Thief. And on the Kindle, Temple Grandin - The Way I See It.
  10. I can't play as the evil person either, I always have to play as good. Playing as evil/bad just feels wrong. Lately I've been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the 3DS, I haven't played any PC or PS3 game lately (I have a Wii too but don't play on it much). Usually I find it just too tiring to play games, I'd rather read and be less tired. I'm enjoying playing on the 3DS though (without sound).
  11. I hope you get rid of the rabbits! It's really not nice that your plants are getting eaten. We have a few rabbits in our garden but they're not a big problem (I don't think they've eaten any of the plants that are important to us), in fact I find it cute to watch them when we see them (not that often).
  12. Thanks so much for all your congratulations ! I studied chemistry with some physics, to be specific Nanomaterials: Chemistry & Physics.
  13. Whoops, sorry! How silly of me.
  14. Now that I think about it, I'm fairly sure the old forum (with the old forum software) had a thread like this.
