I read it based on the subtitle. I generally stick to non-fiction, but due to a dearth of material in my personal library I picked it up. It was a thoroughly enjoyable historical novel and kept me gripped to the last page (literally). Reminded me of a film I saw once; can't for the life of me remember which one.
Hi all, New to the group, but had to post about this book! Finished it after an initial struggle with the writing style (it's written by Death!), but wowee what a book. One of the reviewers in the inside cover evidently had similar trouble with the style but soon ended up missing sleep reading this genuinely un-put-down-able book. Has anyone else read it and enjoyed it as much as I did? 38 yr old soldiers don't often cry at the end of a book!
