Not sure where this should go. It's one of those books that can delight adults for its whimsey, and would be good to read as a family around Christmas. Whether or not it is one that children ready for YA books would be interested in is debatable.
Feel free to move it, Hazel, if you think it is better placed elsewhere.

Description from Google Books This is the heart-warming story of how three of the Kitson children help the wealthy merchant woo their older sister Annaple with a different gift for each of the twelve days of Christmas - with hilarious results! But as the house groans at the seams with partridges, calling birds, swans,maids-a-milking, etc., will Annaple really succumb to the romance of it all, or will she just want the house returned to its normal, tidy state!
Shirley Hughes' charming C17 styled illustrations really make this amusing version of the old Christmas song a delight to read. With a chapter allotted to thirteen named days associated with the celebrations of Christmas this book can either be read straight through, or spaced out in little bites on the specified dates. As well as the well-known gifts, and their effects on the family and their neighbours Jenny Overton has included various bits of folklore and ritual for the various 'days' - some historic, some fictional - to add to the fun.
