BGO emails

Hmmmm.

Yet again I find myself worried about BGO emails getting through. I sent one to promote the Group Read but haven't actually received it myself. This happened before and people weren't getting them.

I know at least some have gone because I received some automated replies from people who used office addresses. The system also provided a list of some 1,500 members to whom emails had apparently successfully been sent. A few indications from people to note they have or haven't received this latest one would be helpful.

Hmmm. This is my concern.

You got two, Luna, because I initially pressed the send button but had been distracted and my login had timed out. I logged back in and there was no indication the email had been sent, so I pressed send again.

Yet others have received none.

Particularly bizarre since you send out emails to groups, such as Subscribers, and both of you are in that group.

It's not even about outdated email addresses because meg didn't get one and clearly hers is up to date because she receives email alerts about reported posts.

I'll have to get Bill to ask Andrew Kenny about it. He's currently working on the update situation so it should all be in his head.

Thanks for those responses. Just as a thought, it didn't get caught by spam filters, did it? We'll assume not unless anyone finds it in a junk folder and posts.

Not in mine - but I did find a BGO Spam report had been shunted in there today, so I'm glad you prompted me to check.

I've been getting spam reports as normal into my inbox, and there's no sign of anything BGO related in my spam, unless David is a disguised Nigerian prince trying to sell me Viagra.

I'm a month late, but I didn't get an email either. The spam filter at my ISP is generally pretty good about not dropping real emails on the floor (although it doesn't like stuff originating from yahoo very much that I can tell).
