I read my first Andre Norton book when I was ten or eleven. Along with Heinlein, her writing coloured a lot of my adolescence. Gollancz published a whole range of them in the early 70s and my local library must have bought a job lot them. I never saw many of them in paperback afterwards, and they've been long out of print now. I've re-read some of these old favourites in recent years - some of them are as good as ever, while others fail to stand up to my adult critical eye.
