I was reading my book at tea-break when I came across this gem of a sentence -

"The small hand of the clock seemed to be auditioning for a part in Baywatch with its slow-motion run around the dial, but eventually it struck midnight." :eek:

I had to read it twice to believe it was real! I understand that the author was trying to be original but it just sounded very silly to me.

So give us all a giggle and post your favourite examples of dodgy prose!
