If you haven't read Every Girl Has Her Limits yet, let me tell you that it's worth the read. I look for it to be a break out book this year and I wouldn't be surprised to see it take a forward or Costa award. I couldn't put it down and there were times where I had to remind myself to breathe. Jolen Whitworh's range is boundless and her book is inspiring, challenging and beautiful.

My teenage daughter is reading it now and she loves it as well. I even caught my husband going through it and he was very impressed too! (which stunned me, as he's about as fond of poetry as he is taking out the rubbish)

It always makes me suspicious when a new member's first post promotes a new, recently published book.

We have no problem with authors (or their friends & families) promoting their books on here - as long as they are honest about the connection.

Are you the author, or connected to her or the publisher in any way?

My apologies if your post is genuine admiration from a truly disinterested reader, but we get enough of the other kind to make me wonder.

Hello,

I did get the book from a friend who knows the author. But I am not related, nor do I know her personally. I did enjoy her book a great deal though.

I never thought about it like that, but I can certainly see how it might seem suspicious. I'm very vocal about things that I enjoy, as I am about books/movies/services that I have found lacking.

I believe that by being outspoken about things that I enjoy as well as the things I do not, others may be informed. Simply that.

Best regards,
Annie

That's fine, just as long as we know!
I hope you will add your outspoken comments to some of the threads on other books you have read.
