Any thoughts on the ghastly catchall term 'scenario'?

sydrome: someone who acts like a spasticated fool. (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sydrome)

Sydne Rome is, apparently, an Italian-based actress.

Sorry, nonsuch, I digress.

Scenario. I occasionally find myself using it, and always cringe. There's nearly always another word that would be better, but worse than that, it usually seems to appear in a sentence of waffle. But we all need to buy a few seconds of thinking time now and again.

For 'sydrome' please read 'syndrome.' (I seem to be starting the year poorly - blame the weather!) Syndrome was all the rage in the 1960s but apart from medical usage now seems to have blown itself out. It refers to characteristic behaviour or patterns (men in groups, people in crowds etc) discerned by sociologists. Situation has lasted - remember Situationism? Scenario is a tic in the brain, a perversion of the inoffensive scene.
