I read this book recently and really liked it, wondered if anyone else had read it? I found it really interesting because it's not so much orientated just towards tourists; it's part of, what I believe is a series, called the 'Writer and City', which is an idea that really appeals to me. As we know, Florence centres in lots of literature, I suppose most famously E.M. Forster's 'A Room With A View' (one of my favourite books as it happens!). It was crammed full of interesting history about the city, the people who have visited, and the way it has inspired authors and artists over the decades. I'd really recommend it if you want to get more of a feel of the city, not just the list of places to visit provided by most other guidebooks.
