Which group of people do you think are the most guilty of using pretentious language?

I think my vote would be on restauranteurs with their plats dur jour and pan fried halloumi (how else are you gonna fry it?!!). Phrases like "freshly charred mignon of beef served on a lightly tossed salad of hand picked endive leaves with sun-dried tomatoes and sesame compote"

Solicitors would come a close second with their special jargon words like aforementioned, hitherto and herewith.

special jargon words like aforementioned, hitherto and herewith. Not particularly 'jargon' (well, maybe 'aforementioned') just not used all that often in everyday speech, although a notice seen on the local bus today caught my attention:

Return tickets can henceforth only be used on the day of issue
