This was once called the Fever Pitch of cricket, but in my opinion it has stood the test of time much better. The stuff about first-class cricket might be out of date, but the material about Berkmann's own cricket team is timeless. OK, so I have to admit that I'm the Sensitive Flower in the book, who drops his head and pace as soon as he is hit for four.

I hear tell that there is to be a sequel published later this year.

References to your "pace" ( before / after or during it dropped ) may be illusory to any webgazer unfamiliar with your Benny Hill inspired wibble-wobble ! Thanks to your crass ineptitude in dropping an easy catch from my bowling at Brook Green in the summer, the escaping batsman went on to break my finger in the next over with a thunderous drive.
