I've just finished this, the first in the Macro/Cato series, and I wondered if anyone else had come across it, and if so what they thought. It was sort of like Sharpe does Rome in the style of Andy McNab.

Having been raised on Rosemary Sutcliffe, I wasn't too keen on the way much of the terminology was anglicised, but I realise that makes it more accessible.

I think I'll probably read the second one, to see if it grows on me.

I've just literally finished reading it and I want the next one in the series NOW. Just one of those books that are a nice read and action-packed. I couldn't help being on the side of however the Romans were fighting though, especially the Britons! :p

I love these books, I've just finshed the fifth, but I'm still having difficulty sympathising with the main characters! I'm on the side of everyone they're fighting against. : p Apart from the druids.

I saw this series of books in Waterstones only yesterday. I picked up the first in the series and then put it back again. I think now I might have to start buying them.
