Extemely good history author, his wide range of knowledge varying from Native America to battle feilds of world war II makes sure i never put his books down.

So, has any one else read anything by Stephen Ambrose?
He seems to have quite a substantial list of titles, mainly of war-type stories. the TV mini-series Band of Brothers (2001) was based on his book of the same name.

The TV version of Band of Brothers was beautifully realized. I didn't care for the book. It felt like a quickie knockoff of the movie.

I liked Undaunted Courage, though, about the Lewis and Clark expedition.

Didn't the book come first?

I've got Band of Brothers, Wild Blue, and Pegasus Bridge.
I never got into Wild Blue, though.

But all three are non-fiction books, so I guess I'm in the wrong section of BGO...

Did Stephen write any fiction?
