Well, it's here! My second novel, Sinema (a dark thriller about a serial killer stalking a remote Northumberland village) has started to hit the distributors and retailers - starting with Amazon and Tesco with the others following over the next few days.

There's a blurb, extract and reviews on my site... http://rodglenn.com/sinema.aspx

Here's the paperback link on Amazon.co.uk... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1600471560?ie=UTF8&tag=thekingofamer-21&link_code=as3&camp=2506&creative=9298&creativ eASIN=1600471560

Here's the hardback link on Amazon.co.uk... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sinema-Northumberland-Massacre-Rod-Glenn/dp/1600471579/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1197300204 &sr=8-1

It is of course available from the US and other Amazon stores and will shortly be available through everywhere else too - Play, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Waterstones etc. It is also available on e-book too. Anyone who orders a copy from this site will get the e-book free (just email me - rod@rodglenn.com and I will send it on to you) or if you only want the e-book it is £1.50 payable through Paypal.com to the same email address.

I hope that you enjoy it and look forward to your comments and honest critisism.

I'm not buying books at the moment, but this looks like one I might read at some point.

I got 8/10 on the 'identify the serial killers' quiz

I got 7/10 on the serial killer quiz - a little worrying. Good luck with the book Roddglenn.

Thanks, David and Hazel. 7/10 isn't too bad, Hazel - just a little disturbed! hehe

I've managed to arrange the first book signing before Christmas - Fri 21st Dec at Borders Books, Silverlink, Newcastle upon Tyne between 12 and 3. If there are any board members in the area feel free to pop down to say hi.

A little too far for me Roddglenn, but I hope it goes really well.

Excellent! That's good news. Thanks for the friendly invitation (though still many leagues from my part of the world!)

Well done RoddGlenn, it all sounds as if you are having a ball. More power to you. Unfortunately, Tyne & Wear, is more than jaunt for me!

Well thank you kindly. It would be nice to meet up with some of the wonderful people on this board at some time, but the north east is quite a trek for a lot of people. I'll be having more signings in the future which will gradually ripple outwards, so a more centralised one isn't out of the question.

Thanks, Hazel. I must admit I'm quite nervous for this interview. An hour long!!! Yikes! They play my six favourite songs and we chat about writing and publishing etc in between.

Oh, it will fly by I am sure - I hope you have picked appropriately scary and menacing tunes! Certainly not Shiny Happy People to go along with your novel!

David

Hope it went well, roddglen. I bookmarked the site in readiness, then forgot all about it :o
Sorry, but at that time in the evening my mind is on cooking/serving dinner ;)

I was shocked to go to the site and find a trailer. Here in the US, I think I may have seen one non-print ad for a book once in my life (Stephen King, perhaps). Thing is, it worked, and I clicked on "excerpt" when it finished.

Are book trailers common in the UK or was this an innovation of sorts?

Megu, no worries, here's a link to a recording of the interview... http://ia341040.us.archive.org/3/items/MickHearnRodInterview/roddersinterview.mp3

Hi, Matthew. Authors have started using these trailers over the last 12 - 18 months or so, so it's still fairly new but seems to be another good medium for promoting your work.

Yes, it's used predominently on YouTube plus on MySpace and Facebook. But YouTube is by far the most important one to get it on.
