With the extra questions now thrown into the written driving exam, the BBC has produced another of those quizzes, so why not see if you're still fit to be on the road!

BBC News Driving Test (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6976319.stm)

I scored 9, though only because most of the questions were more common-sense than I was expecting. Specific regulations would be trickier (I slipped up on parking distance from a junction).

Oddly, there's no categorisation for 7-8.

8. I didn't know the dog one or the parking distance from a junction. The rest were common sense as you say.

8 out of 10 - and I don't drive! Maybe I should...

I got 8 - feel quite ashamed as I agree they are common sense. Maybe I don't have any

8/10, too. With the same errors as MarkC.
The rest were, as stated, common sense - but I suppose not to everyone, or there'd be no need to ask the questions.

Oh, and I'm not a driver, although I used to ride a moped, back in the days when the roads were much quieter.

7. Clearly a menace to other road users.

I got 10/10! Working next to the driving test centre must be rubbing off on me. That said, the answer to the question about someone pulling out of a side road in front of you was clearly wrong...

9/10 - quite disappointing really as I only took my theory test 12 months ago and scored 100%. :D
(Mind you, I have since scored 3 points on my licence so I shouldn't be too smug :o )

9/10, with just a wrong guess on the safe parking distance.

9/10 (got wrong on the helmet issue)

8/10 - obviously not good enough to pass, good luck I already have a driving licence. :)

I got 7/10 and don't drive.. rather embarrassingly I'm a nurse and I got the motorcyclist helmet question wrong... oops!

I only knew that one because I attended a race marshal's training day at Castle Combe circuit a few years ago (I'm not involved in racing but the disciplines I am involved in do have high speeds and all competitors have to wear helmets so much of the day was relevant) - we were told not to remove the helmet or move someone after a crash unless there was an immediate serious need, such as them not breathing, as it could potentially do more harm than good.

Same. Clearly we are all just too conscientious!

I got 9 out of ten. Fell down on the speed limit in the narrow street. I knew the answer but its poorly wored and plumped for another.

Can't believe you all got the helmet one wrong!

I got 10.
I knew the parking distance from a junction. It's a shame that nobody takes any notice of this though. I've always thought that this should be made into a law, with a greater distance for vans. I hate it when they park too close to a junction. Sorry, this isn't the rants thread is it.
