I found this in a charity shop and bought it. I am a church minister's wife and we lived in a mission for a while so it kind of grabbed my attention. I thought I would be disappointed by it being a fairly ordinary love story in a hot setting but I actually found it rather captivating. It was quite deep and complicated and full of places where things were not so clear cut and obvious. Characters were believably a mixture of good and bad and choices were often hard to call as to whether they were the choices which should be made, or the ones we the reader thought should be made. And it was more difficult to see where the story was going than I expected. I'd never heard of Tim Jeal before but I'm glad I gave him a chance.
