If you like your 'relationship' graphic novels then you will love this book. First of, it is the cutest little graphic novel I have seen for a long time. Much smaller than your average 'cheap' paperback, it has a tiny portrait of our characters, Jeff and Sophie on the front. It's almost hand-sized and perfect to carry with you.
Each page features just 2 plot boxes in simple, sketchy monochrome. And we trace almost a year in the beginnings of a modern romance. Little snapshots of th time spent together and the time apart. Not much is said of great importance, but by the economy of words, everything then becomes important. It is the thing that are left unsaid, that we know by experience, that have the greater potency. The sketchy style adds to the intimacy and closeness of this little book.
aeiou...can be read in just under half an hour, but if you really want to enjoy it, take an hour and savour the story.
