There are always new members who don't know what the abbreviations in our group mean. Today I saw another question and since I have seen a few lately, I'll just start with the ones I remember being asked lately.
TBR pile - to be read pile (books we have bought - or borrowed - and still not read)
RL - real life
ds1 - dear son 1 (ds2 would be dear son 2)
dd1 - dear daughter etc.
ABB - anything but books section
Feel free to add any abbreviations you can think of that we use from time to time or constantly.

I constantly use BGO, and have occasionally been asked what it stands for: BookGroupOnline
Because of my unreliable memory I sometimes use
IIRC (If I recall correctly)

I often refer to mine as "His Lordship" - on occasion I have had to change the abbreviation HL into it's full part as I thought you might not know what I meant! As it's now posted here, I won't worry quite so much!

We also have quite a few abbreviations for other users names. Although they are mostly self-explanatory, I have included some of the more frequent ones here:
RR = Royal Rother
NSA = nospacesallowed
meg = megustaleer
deino - Deinonychus
MFJ = My Friend Jack
LL = Lady Lazarus

It struck me once that if the txting principle of vowel removal were applied I'd be turned into a DVD. All things considered, though, I'd rather not...

No fear David. Yours is short enough to write out in full. Mine however...
I don't mind being called FLS, FlS, FS or just plain Katie :)

GPWM = Good Point Well Made
It's not been used on BGO yet, but it's about to be any second now.

I'm glad you added this, I've been reading it as 'Expected Time of Arrival'... Most confusing! :D

OP Opening Post, (or OPer)
The first post in a thread (or the person who posted it). This gives you an idea what the subject of the thread is, even if it has gone off on a brief tangent.
It is advisable to check this before starting to post on a game or quiz thread, especially one that has been running for several pages, (or years :rolleyes: )

I've seen people using DiL which I had to look up, apparently it means daughter in law.
